“…Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Things are better than they appear!
Things are better than they appear!
Even in it’s imperfection, nothing is more perfect.
On earth, there isn’t much found. And judging by the number of wars since recorded time, I doubt there ever will be understanding. We may very well be a species that will end up destroying ourselves so that other animals can live safer, cleaner lives on this planet as long as it keeps spinning.
The heart of man will never change. Jesus was born over 2000 years ago and His words of love and forgiveness have been preached for as long. His words are mocked by most, but I am not sure what they find funny about it. Are most really so far gone spiritually that they think of love as something to laugh at? Yet when horrible things happen in this world, our corrupt news sources print stories about “people getting together in love and peace.” The words of Christ, yet they make no mention of Him. Why is there no real understanding? Why are most still like stubborn, ignorant, disobedient children when it comes to worship and thanks?
Suffice to say just about everything we do is wrong.
Man used to be on the right, slow track to co-existing with nature but began to take from, abuse and poison the earth and all living things at a rapid rate.
Man now thinks it knows better than God.
For some color. And it couldn’t get more vibrant than red!
Red for roses on Valentines Day. And for the hearts! It’s a very red day anyway.
There was also the National Wear Red Day that was celebrated or honored on Friday, February 5th this year. When I was in Federal Service, we all wore red every Friday to support our troops. We all should start doing this until every last soldier comes home!
The color red is the color of the blood shed on the actual day Saint Valentine was tortured and beheaded by an angry anti-Christ emperor named Claudius Gothicus that not only did not embrace Christianity himself, even though claiming to like Saint Valentine, demanded that he denounce Christ himself or be put to death. He refused and Valentines Day is somehow an outcome of his martyrdom in the year of our Lord 269. Strangely enough that emperor died of the plague, the following year.
On that same day, 1660 years later in Chicago another blood bath occurred known as the Saint Valentines Day Massacre. Don’t some people just suck?!
Try not to think about it when you’re trading Valentine Day cards and giving your loved ones chocolates and flowers. You are celebrating by doing the opposite of what this day had represented and isn’t that really what Saint Valentine would have wanted? To continue the Christian tradition of loving one another.
In ten days I will be 63 years old!
I keep recalling when one of my co-workers told me how old she was. She was 52 at the time and while I was only 10 years younger I found myself wondering what it would feel like to be that old.
She looked good for her age. She was a pretty woman, a little overweight, divorced, as myself. She was involved in a long-term but abusive relationship with someone much younger and I wondered if she put up with it just to feel younger herself. I remember her telling us that her brand new vehicle was in the shop because her boyfriend had come over drunk and started kicking in the side just to hurt her. I also wondered what I would have done in the same situation because I’m not so forgiving.
Oh, that’s right, the age thing again. Well I’m glad I can say I’m getting old. Many people never get to say this. The baby that never makes it to it’s first birthday. The child that succumbs to some childhood illness or accident like I almost did at age seven. That young soldier that was just killed in yet another of our many wars and all the people trying to live our their lives and because of illness, accident or deliberate acts of downright evil, never get to grow old.
Rejoice in whatever age you are. Revel in it and never take your life or that of others for granted.
The grim-reaper is just around the corner as we all will eventually find out.
Good to know that if you hadn’t asked us to write about something negative, I would be bitching about something. I guess my fear is that I will become a slave to what I have learned from my life experiences and not a slave to the truth.
Luckily I know better. I know Jesus. The thing that I love the most about Him is His human side. The parts where I heard He cried because He dared to care about a world that didn’t love Him back. The parts in the New Testament that say He chose to give His life because He loved us anyway. This is the part that tells me He was not completely human because most of us would do the opposite. Even though I know Christ, I still don’t want to do things for those that are my enemy. I will pray for them and not harm them, but I seldom will actually go out of my way to help someone that is against me. Why would I? Why would anyone? We know there is a good chance that the enemy will become strong with this help and destroy us. This is the way of the world. The way that Jesus told us was wrong.
I loved the part where He warned us that when the world hates us for walking in love and the light, remember that it hated Him first. Most of us hate being hated so we are careful how we walk, careful not to rock any boats and provoke our enemies. I love the part that most forget about and that is the believers will do even greater works than He because He goes to the Father.
