Daily Prompt: Typical

So darn typical of me not to do what I say I’m going to do or go through with stuff.

I have gotten so lazy in my old age and being retired has not helped.  I thought for sure the reason I was not doing certain things was because I was so busy working in my later years.  I worked overtime for numerous years and then later on got to the point there was no way I was not going to take 2 full days to recuperate from the severe stress I was under Monday through Friday.

Take blogging.  I will wake up with fabulous ideas running through my head, even before coffee, even write some of them down and then never write the blog.  Many years ago I was an avid writer and did most of my writing freehand, did not type it out.  I believe many creative people are like this.  For some reason I almost can’t make my thoughts or ideas flow while I type like I can when I am handwriting full speed making it all but impossible to recopy the notes later because it’s almost illegible.

I have only about a billion ideas for some blog posts that I don’t give a damn any more who reads them and who doesn’t.  I know for a fact some of the finest, most eloquent blogs are seldom read by the masses simply because the subject matter is not something most find interesting or ever care about.  I believe many who blog are liberal or progressive minded which simply means to me, you are caught up in what is currently popular.  You can’t or don’t like to think for yourself and you feel more comfortable going along with what you think most other people believe.  Most don’t like to be excluded, especially from popular groups or shunned by the beautiful people so to speak so many go along with anything they hear spoken in an well modulated voice from a beautiful person on their television, especially a celebrity.

Those running our mainstream media know this.  They have studied and perfected mind control to the extent that you actually have people that are passionate about the most evil or stupid things on God’s earth.  I find it terrifying especially when I think that I was once one  of those people.  It’s very easy.  Just be young, naive, kindhearted, believe everything you hear someone say on television, especially the news.

There was once a time that I actually believed if a story was reported that it must have happened just like they said.  And if they intimated in some way the perp was guilty, I condemned that person on the spot.  No trial, no jury, he did it.  Especially if he or she was someone who seemed like a creep because he was portrayed this way.  That was before I knew some that they ran stories on and they left out so much of the background or real base for what happened.  I started realizing that our news stories are produced with end results in mind.  These reporters were not telling you what actually happened but were slanting it any way their producers told them to.

This is not fair to any of us.  We deserve to hear the basic facts about the things that happen around us.  It is the most dehumanizing and insulting thing for other men to decide what we are allowed to know about and how we are allowed to process this information ourselves.  Years ago, you were told what happened matter of factly because there was not this kind of stiff competition and so much money involved.  Most true journalists could not have cared less about making a buck off of what they were doing because they believed in truth first.

Now all of our major news sources are owned, probably globally, by wealthy elitist types who demand their views be promoted and followed.  Their candidates and their agendas must come to pass, truth be damned. This is called propaganda, not reporting.  To slant or report with bias so your side looks good while making your enemy look as bad as possible is actually against FCC regulations.  Now even the FCC is dirty.  I believe that they are not doing their jobs because I have filed a complaint about this kind of reporting several times only to be told that this is called “Freedom of Speech” which is a complete lie.  When you promote propaganda, cover up or report unsubstantiated rumors and you are in a position of having a monopoly over all the media so only your voice can be heard or taken seriously then you are dangerous and cannot be trusted.

This is exactly why the FCC was created to prevent what has now become the norm.  Many who run for elections need funding from the men who own these papers and news stations, they are not going to make them angry in any way or they will find themselves without the connections or funding for future endeavors.  There is so much obvious corruption currently in so many areas of America, I don’t foresee anything good that can come of it.
