Daily Prompt: Fraud

Much of my career has been working with Fraud or Criminal actions and I’ve never been a cop or a detective.  I actually wanted to be a Private Detective many years ago but glad I never went that route.  There’s really no money in it.  I was going to hire one years ago for a missing relative and didn’t feel I could trust the them so I didn’t go through with it.  If I did, I would have to give them my loved one’s personal information and with my personal on the job experience with so many corrupt individuals, I just couldn’t do it.

I dealt with a few instances of fraud, and one robbery, in the years I worked commercial banking.  There were people trying to pass “funny money” and bad checks regularly.  One gentleman had to be detained while the FBI came down to speak to him regarding possible money laundering.

I worked for a few years after that for their “Tech Center” as it was called, finding “exceptions” or fraud in business accounts which consisted of finding anything out of the ordinary in any way, shape or form as they say.  Any inconsistency usually spelled “FRAUD” of some sort.  Usually counterfeiting.  I started there at the time that more people were purchasing home computers with great software and some began their illustrious careers as a counterfeiter!  That computer was money well spent til the Feds caught up with them, I’m assuming.  Of course I’m not going to share any criminal tricks of the trade I saw in the many years associated with these “entrepreneurs.”  You can learn enough from most of the crime shows on TV instructing folks how to do these things anyway.  Another reason I’m not a fan of the liberal media.

As a decorating company vendor rep there were various types of fraud that we dealt with mostly in selling when the purchaser was using stolen credit card information or claimed to have not received goods that were actually received, even shown signed for by the claimant requesting another shipment of something, maybe to sell or give away or because they didn’t order enough in the first place.

When working for the Internal Revenue Service, most of my work was done in the Small Business/Self Employment Division of Compliance and Enforcement.  We made sure everyone paid what was due and went after them if they didn’t.  We always tried to work with delinquent taxpayers in any way they needed to depending on their specific situations.  Most of the fraud I encountered with the IRS was not always with the delinquent taxpayer, but many times it was their tax preparer who decided to pull some scam, an embezzling accountant, or the fraudulent tax specialist they called on to help them deal with the IRS.

This is one of the reasons I wrote my book in the first place  after leaving.  So many taxpayers wasting money owed on charlatans offering help to the scared and desperate.  These guys would charge huge upfront fees, some requesting the taxpayers banking information to take out subsequent payments if they couldn’t afford to pay this fee upfront, sometimes in the thousands, having the taxpayer sign over legal authorization forms so they could represent them and then taking the money and disappearing or just never contacting us for whatever reason.  Either way it’s pure fraud to misrepresent yourself in any way taking something from someone under false pretense.  Many try to pretend they were just too overworked to get to that case.  It’s also fraud to take money for work you know you can’t or won’t have time for.

The more the world tries to pretend there is no God, there will be nothing but unGodly behavior like this in the world.  No man will stop committing evil for gain just because another man tells him to stop, even if he’s armed.  We are just starting to see our America culture crumble thanks to the heathen and their misguided beliefs.  God bless all of His people in these very dangerous times.

Daily Prompt: Surviving in a Superficial Culture

Plastic People, oh baby now you’re such a drag!”  Mothers of Invention

When I bring up “plastic people” I don’t just mean the ones all done up with plastic surgery.  I mean the ones that are fake, phony, insincere, etc.  Now that many are deciding to reveal their true character it does explain why they wore a mask in the first place.  I guess I’ll take plastic if it means receiving fake kindness and thoughtfulness rather than sincere hatred and disrespect!
