Daily Prompt: Epitome of Honor

Po' Girl Shines

The soldier killed in combat is the epitome of honor.  The greatest gift that can be given is your own life to save another.  God bless our fallen warriors.  Please remember them on this Memorial Day, 2016, especially in light of our country’s current problems and those that endeavor to demean or diminish the role our soldiers play in staying free.

Daily Prompt: Seeing Jesus Everywhere!

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”  John 15:13

FearlessLove thy God Luke 10 27

I guess I just feel sad for a world that does not have the miracles it needs. I won’t even pretend that if you deserved a miracle you would get one.  Because that’s simply not the truth.  I observe the glaring unfairness of life on a daily basis in most things and I fight desperately not to let this shake my faith because it is the only thing that is keeping me going at this time.

FearlessLight of Life John 8 12

At least I realize why I feel so bad at this time, why I’m so down and discouraged. After a lifetime of letdowns and discouragements, even tragedies, I am finally allowing myself to face my actual real feelings.  Instead of trying to psych myself up and buoy my spirits with false bravado.  Sadly, I know why I have been living this way.  If I do not fill myself with these positive feelings, there is nothing in me.  Children of abuse and neglect do not have anything good that was deposited inside of them.  There is only evil and despair.  This is the reason our world is in the state that it is in.  People that are filled with all kinds of evil krap or nothing at all.

Jesus spoke of this phenomena and everything He said is the truth. He spoke of this condition after exorcism that if the person did not fill his “house” with the Word of God, that the evil would return and bring some friends.  I guess even demons have friends and yet how hard is it for some of us believers to find even one true one?

I was feeling so bad yesterday that when I was standing in line to purchase my frozen spinach pizza, which wasn’t bad by the way, a tiny book near the magazines caught my eye.  I’ve never noticed these before but “Jesus” caught my eye.  The title of the periodical was Simple Grace and just underneath was the headline “Jesus is Looking For You, Can You be Found?”  Good question.  God only knows, no pun intended.  Well, I purchased it and will attempt to read through the entire booklet and see what it has to offer spiritually and let you know.

Watered Down Stories and Cynicism

Life is not fair. No one ever discusses one of the main discrepancies of our lives that goes beyond race, religion and economics.  They never get to the heart of why some are successful and some barely get by.  I want to talk about how personal ethics and self-control weigh into all of this.

Recently attention has been given to those in Detroit struggling to pay their water bills. Really?  Since when is being irresponsible all of a sudden someone else’s problem?  Many years ago, this would not have been my feeling hearing something such as this.  Now that I am much older and have met many people, have seen and heard some of the stunts some pull in order to “play the system” or “get something for nothing” these stories evoke something very different in me.

Yes I am cynical and rightly so. Cynicism is a good thing.  Naivety is not.  When broadcasting people’s so called “plights” it always helps to put as many facts into the story as possible.  In anything I hear about the more facts the better.  I’m always curious of how or why something is so.  There’s a huge difference in people who can’t pay and those who won’t for whatever reason.

Fresh water is pretty expensive around metro Detroit. When I had more people in my home and watered the lawn and garden I could pay about $250 every three months.  I also know that when I hardly use any, it was down to about half that amount.  If you know you are on a tight budget you tell your family to be responsible.  Take care of any drips, don’t water the lawn, take long showers or run your water when you aren’t using it.  In other words, be responsible for your actions that effect your money!

I want to know exactly who these people are who I’m sure have money for beer, cigarettes, food and cable TV and somehow can’t pay their water bills. They appear to have money enough for the home that needs running water, but they don’t have quite enough to pay for their water.  There’s something called economics and budgeting.  You don’t spend more than you have and you certainly don’t use more water than you can afford to pay for.  Yes for some a job loss or illness could cause these kinds of problems, but it can’t be the case for almost half the city of Detroit supposedly.

If I had never personally heard people, who to me are professional deadbeats, say things such as “I want to buy such and such or go here or there and I know since I’m poor they can’t turn my power off on me” and then they go out and do it I wouldn’t be thinking this way because it never entered my mind to do something like this even when I was the working poor.  I just went without and budgeted like hell!  I never ever thought the world owed me anything because I knew from being neglected and abandoned by my own parents that there was no world out there going to take care of me.  My parents didn’t even try to cheat the system or even ask for help themselves.  Now I don’t know how these other people became “spoiled” where they think some magical fairy is out there just waiting to take care of their every need like that, but it’s not very fair or very realistic.

I really believe our current media is very irresponsible and actually not very bright or experienced. I say this by the level of their supposed journalism compared to that of about 50 years ago.  People in the news media industry no longer appear to go after stories with much logic or depth.  I have read things that appear insane or at best laughable that the rest of us are supposed to buy into.

Basically that is what today’s journalism is for. Entertainment.  There is seldom any truth to stories and the facts are always way off base making it fiction.  In the past a news story was never allowed to be as inaccurate or biased as they are now.  A journalist always sought the truth no matter who looked bad.  Now that is unheard of.  Currently if the powers that be plan on having a certain person look a certain way, that’s how the story is written, no matter how slanted or ludicrous the outcome.

Daily Prompt: There is None so Blind

As he/she that will not see.

facetree

The day when someone can “just say no” to cancer is the day that I will begin to think of drug addiction as the same thing.

The day it’s OK to do something just because you have an urge to do so instead of choosing to do the right thing is the day you give in to selfish narcissism.

The day you encourage others to sin because you do is the day you give your soul away.

The day when specific groups of people need to be being amended to the US Constitution to get “rights” is the day someone has to show me where the original US Constitution was written solely for white men.

The day that large corporations and banks get financially rescued by the government but not the citizens is the day I know that this government is no longer of the people, by the people or for the people.

The day that a man can freely walk into a woman’s restroom because he chooses to wear a dress is the day that women just lost some of their safety and privacy so someone could feel better about their perversion.

The day that there are even a small minority of adults in positions of authority who control our media that cannot see the difference between living your life in peace, freedom, safety and fairness or offending, harming, even murdering others is the day when that country will fall.

The day when those that murder our tiniest and most innocent of human life and then harvest their dead bodies for parts is fun for the whole family yet those that expose this atrocity are condemned, we need to look at those who are condemning them.

The day when our President thinks allowing anyone to come into our country by breaking our laws is the day I know a criminal is in office.

The day when right is wrong and good is bad is the day I know the Bible is 100% correct about everything, especially Jesus.  Luckily not everyone thinks this way.  Only those that walk in the dark.  The evil ones.

The day when the criminal is the good guy and lifted up and the police officer is the bad guy is the day I know the devil has possessed this nation.

The only way evil can exist is to allow it to do so.
